Lori just after we got back from a mile walk trying to keep her labor going.

Baby has definitely dropped!

Full of energy that she couldn't figure out what to do with, Lori baked us some wonderful oatmeal cookies at 10:00 p.m.

...Really big cookies!

10:00 a.m. after Lori had her neighbor braid her hair, she and Matthew headed for the Hospital. Neal and I followed in about 1/2 hour.

Timpanogos Regional Hospital

This is the birthing room. Very nice and roomy.

Lori was progressing nicely still without any pain.

We got to watch the computer that was monitoring the contractions and the baby's heart beat.

Matthew kept waking up the computer for us.

Time to induce with Pitocin because she just wasn't progressing quickly enough. That was mid-afternoon.

Neal and I left at 5:10 while Lori worked very hard until 7:46 p.m. Before their son was born.
Matthew waited outside of the nursery so that he could introduce us to their new baby boy.

What a sweet moment for Neal and I as Matthew said, "This is Andrew".

Never tiring of taking pictures of Lori, I asked her to pose like her niece Melanie.

Neal loved holding his third grandson and 7th grandchild.

You can see how tiny the 6 lb. 9 oz. baby looks next to his Grandpa.

These photos were taken in Lori's room where the staff treated her like a queen.

This photographer came to take pictures of Andrew.

She was very good and got a sweet picture of him.

She came with all the equipment necessary for taking very nice photos.

The staff brought Lori wonderful meals. This one was topped off with a chocolate parfait.

What an incredibly sweet baby he is.

Everyone said that he looks a lot like Matthew with Lori's nose.

Matthew is going to be a Great Dad.

Father and son have a chat.

Getting used to having my camera flashing most of the time, Lori said, "Look, he has my eyes".

We were so impressed with the hospital staff here and wish all babies could be treated so well.

While Neal and I were on a dinner break Neal found this onsie that he knew would please Matthew. Go Cougars!!!

Neal was able to keep track of his business from Utah while Don handled the really "hot" stuff for him. Yay Don!!!

We can't get over how tiny Andrew is.

Look how he stretched his toes.

I could almost guess that he was saying, "Grandma put the camera away".

He's just soooooo tiny.

At 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 it was time for Lori to change Andrew into his going home outfit. She had so many outfits to choose from but chose the one that her Dad had picked out for him.

After she got him dressed the nurse came to have his security tag removed.

After Lori got her son into his clothes it was time for her to get changed too but she took time out to rock Andrew until he was comfortable again.

Paige, Lori's nurse check her wrist ID so that they could be released from the hospital.

Andrew rested before being redressed and put into his new car seat.

Remember when if you wanted to go somewhere you just grabbed your purse and hurried to the car?

I snapped as many photos as I could on our way out.

And now may I introduce you to the Matthew Kimberlin Family.

Now just imagine this, if you will. As both Lori, Paige, and Matthew struggled to get Andrew into his car seat, the Dodgers and the Cubs were playing game one of the National League Division Series.

Dutifully attending to his parental duties Matthew missed seeing the grand slam by James Loney. Poor Matthew.

Almost ready for his first car ride.

It is really not as easy as it looked before they tried getting him strapped into the car seat so that Paige was thoroughly convinced that it was perfectly done.
